From 0 to 60 in three sips of milkshake…

Okay, so Josh was on his way home and I hinted that I sure would enjoy my favorite concoction from Shakes if he could swing by on his way home. The kids have been napless today (unless you count Mickey sleeping on the way to playgroup, and Carebear sleeping on the way home), and I’m nearing the end of my rope, and just the thought of a delectable chocolate concrete with raspberries mixed in made it look like there was a light at the end of the table. I’m thinking “he’ll sneak in with my treat, hide it in the freezer, and I’ll eat it after the kids go to bed”. Right. No, my husband (whom I love) doesn’t sneak, he parades. And he’s gotten himself a milkshake as well. And of course the moment my dear children notice the delights he has in his possession, they are begging to have a taste. Now, they’ve already had an after-dinner treat… vanilla yogurt with cinnamon on top (a favorite around here, that I pass-off as actual dessert for them), and I say “no, you already had your treat”. I get vetoed by Daddy, and next thing you know my children are on the couch with him taking looooooong drags of Oreo cookie milkshake through the straw. Are they tired anymore? Nope. Are they begging to go to bed like they were moments before Daddy walked in? Nope. They are running AMOK. Ugh. I think Daddy should have bedtime duty tonight, don’t you? 🙂
